Supporting the Monrovia Association of Fine Arts through “Chalksgiving”
It’s Fun! It’s Free! It’s Family! It’s a Thanksgiving Treat!
The Monrovia Association of Fine Arts (MAFA) held an inclusive event, Chalksgiving, from November 26-29, 2020, to continue the spirit of creativity in the face of the global pandemic.
With the theme, “What We’re Thankful For,” amateurs, families, students, and professionals were invited to unleash their artistic side through this community event.
Supporting this event was Air-Tro, ensuring the community would continue to enjoy creative and artistic events through a partnership with MAFA.
MAFA was founded in the 1950s through the efforts of a Monrovian native and renowned artist, who produced art exhibits, and guest art lectures, Ms. Mildred Lapson. Her vision was to enrich the community’s lives by bringing fine arts to the community. Today’s MAFA is an all-volunteer non-profit organization whose key goals are to promote local artists and provide mentoring that encourages young people to experience art.
Since 2004, MAFA has contributed more than $50,000 to art education for the students of Monrovia.
Air-Tro is proud to support those making a difference in our local community.
