We’re thrilled to announce that amazing middle school students from Monrovia, California competed at the First Tech World Championship at the George R. Brown convention center in Houston, Texas, April 17- 20.
The team from Clifton Middle School, also known as the “Hippie Bots,” was one of only three middle schools competing against older high school groups. With a busy schedule of events, our local kids worked together with students from all over the world to participate in cutting edge robotics activities and competitions.
They worked hard for the honor, as only 320 student teams worldwide attended, with only 148 of those teams qualified by their performance on the field. As Clifton Middle School robotics program coordinator Paul Flores said, “Success does not just happen – it takes innovation, critical thinking and an uncommon commitment to achieving excellence. “
We look forward to all the new HVAC technology these brilliant youngsters will someday create, along with their unbelievable scientific discoveries and robotics breakthroughs. After all, innovation and creativity start at home. It’s why Air-Tro prioritizes our community and our kids when it comes to giving. We can’t imagine anything more important than helping our local students create a better future for our world.
Congratulations, kids! We look forward to seeing you at future contests and robotics events. And for all those Monrovia parents reading this, who knows? Maybe it will be the product invented by your son or daughter that we soon rely upon for everyone’s indoor comfort.
