Like the Moon Landing and Sesame Street, Air-Tro Is Turning Fifty Years Old!
We’ve Been Keeping California Comfortable Since 1969. Hard to Believe, Isn’t It?
Where has the time gone? That’s what we’re asking ourselves this year as we look back to realize Air-Tro is turning 50 years old in 2019. Founded by the Helbing family back in 1969, Air-Tro began as a way to help homeowners, commercial business owners, and even local universities and colleges maintain superior indoor comfort within their houses, classrooms, warehouses, production plants and office buildings.
Over time, and with much of the same staff, we’ve built a family of heating and air conditioning professionals who provide award-winning service throughout the San Gabriel Valley and beyond.
What and who else is turning fifty this year? We took a look around the Internet to see!
Peter Dinklage
If you’re a Game of Thrones fan, you can’t help but have an opinion on one of the show’s most beloved characters. Born on June 11, 1969, Dinklage has attracted worldwide acclaim for his portrayal of Tyrion Lannister on the popular series. Will he be the one to kill the Night King?
Jennifer Aniston
This talented actress and comedienne was born on February 11, 1969, going on to charm audiences on the long-running television show Friends, along with roles in many popular films since. Happy Birthday, “Rachel!”
Tic Tacs
While heating and air conditioning may keep you comfortable, Tic Tacs work on your fresh breath. Introduced in the summer of 1969, this enduring candy has become a cool staple of American culture ever since.
Led Zeppelin
Ouch. This one hurts. This rock band is now officially middle aged, celebrating its fiftieth anniversary in 2019. Surviving members Jimmy Page, Robert Plant, and John Paul Jones continue to make music and appear in Southland venues. What their home recording studio HVAC systems are like, we’re not sure.
Smoke Detectors
Like effective heating and cooling, smoke detectors are a modern-day must for today’s homeowner and commercial property owner. The Atomic Energy Commission first allowed them in homes in 1969. Data has shown that smoke alarms have reduced the risk of fire deaths by 18%. Here’s to fifty more years for this life-saving device.
“Sweet Caroline”
Neil Diamond explained this song was inspired by Caroline Kennedy. Released in 1969, it’s been a staple of radio, karaoke and shower stalls everywhere ever since. It’s also played for every Red Sox home game in Boston’s Fenway Park. Where were you when you first heard it?
Wendy’s
There’s a Wendy’s fast food franchise within a few miles of Air-Tro headquarters. Not a surprise, considering it’s the third largest hamburger chain in the world today. Their signature “Frosty” has also endeared them to millions of kids large and small.
We’re not sure how these folks and institutions will be celebrating their fiftieth birthday, but for us, the joy is in providing service with a smile for our customers every day throughout Monrovia, San Dimas, Pasadena, Duarte and beyond. We’ll be offering contests and free giveaways through the year for our loyal customers. Check this space often for the latest updates. Most of all, thank you for fifty wonderful years. We hope to share fifty more with you, keeping California comfortable!
